(Neb.)-Twelve To Represent Local 4-H In Regional Speech Contest
(Chadron)-Twelve 4-H speakers were selected to represent Dawes County at the Regional 4-H Speaking Contest to be held April 27th. On Monday April 8, Dawes County 4-H members presented original speeches and public service announcements (PSAs) in the 2013 Dawes County 4-H Public Speaking Event held at Chadron.
Those selected to present at the upcoming Regional 4-H Speech Event were Tristan Hunter, Alyssa Snyder, Cole Madsen, Curt Bruhn, Jacob Lemmon (2 entries), Lance Cattin, Chase Franey, Taylor Davidson, Chance Snook, Jerhett Cattin and Kane Wellnitz.
Communications Event Sponsors are KSDZ Radio, Corn Valley 4-H Club, Ray Grantham, Happy Hustlers 4-H Club, Hencey Plumbing and Hydronics, John & Kim Madsen, Tommy’s Car Lot, Tom & Carol Foster
Youth from age 5 to 19 have an opportunity to participate in the 4-H Public Speaking program. The 4-H Public Speaking Event also is sponsored by the Nebraska Rural Radio Network, which includes KRVN, KNEB, and KTIC. They provide the ribbons, $25 cash award for the top four winners in the Senior Division of the Regional Contests and special awards for the state 4-H speech and PSA winners.
University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL) Extension staff and volunteers organize events such as the 4-H Public Speaking Event to teach 4-H youth important life skills. Learn more about the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Extension 4-H Youth Development Program at 4h.unl.edu and “Know How. Know Now.”
