(Neb.)-Chadron City Council To Meet Monday Night
(CHADRON)-The Chadron city council will convene Monday evening at City Hall council chambers, 234 Main St. On the agenda, public hearings regarding a proposed economic development plan for the city of Chadron and applications for economic development and CDBG reuse funds. Morford Properties LLC is requesting development funds to help with the purchase and renovation of the former Bomgaar’s building on East 6th Street, and the Dawes County Development Group LLC is requesting reuse funds to help develop a new retail facility next door. Resolutions will also be considered regarding those applications.
Also on the agenda, resolutions to award bids for sanitary sewer extensions at the Niobrara addition on East Niobrara Avenue and at the Wood’s Lift Station on Linden Street to Stockade Road. The council will also review an appraisal and discuss city-owned property on the north side of East Niobrara Avenue.
In addition, the council will discuss resolutions to authorize the use of city property for placement of a “Welcome to Chadron” sign at 10th Street and Highway 385 as well as a request from the Chadron Girls Softball Association for LB 840 community development funds for a safety cap on the fence around the ballfield.
The meeting starts at 6:00 p.m. and is open to the public. It is also broadcast on Great Plains local access channel 19.
