(Neb.)-Son Says He Tried To Carry His Mother In Snowstorm
LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) - A woman who died trying to trudge through a blinding snowstorm from her disabled car to her house a mile away in the Nebraska Panhandle had never experienced a blizzard before.
That's according to her 19-year-old son, who suffered hypothermia and frostbite trying to help his mother on Tuesday.
Lisa Conrad and her family moved to Nebraska from Vancouver, Washington about two years ago. The 37-year-old woman was driving home from work early Tuesday when she became stuck in a snow drift.
Her son walked to the car to get her, and they both attempted to walk back to the house, but became disoriented.
Brandon Conrad says he carried his mother for a while. He was found in an abandoned farmhouse Tuesday evening.
