(S.D.)-Council Orders Box Elder Mayor To Get Evaluation
BOX ELDER, S.D. (AP) - The Box Elder City Council has directed Mayor Bill Griffiths to get a psychological evaluation and possibly undergo counseling after council members found he created a "hostile work environment."
The council voted unanimously to approve the findings of an outside investigation spurred by two complaints from city employees.
The investigator found that the complaints against Griffiths were warranted and "corrective action" was warranted. The council has also instructed Griffiths to apologize to the complainants and attend a mediation session. The entire city staff must also undergo training on discrimination and harassment.
Griffiths did not return calls seeking comment.
