(Neb.)-NPPD Utility Restores Power To Most Customers In Central Neb.
KEARNEY, Neb. (ASSOCIATED PRESS) - The spring storm that moved across Nebraska knocked out power to nearly 4,000 customers at the height of the storm, but most have regained power.
Nebraska Public Power District spokesman Mark Becker says only about 40 of its retail customers in Kearney remained without power Wednesday morning. Most of the customers still lacking electricity are in the Kearney's east industrial park.
Becker says the outages were caused by a combination of thunderstorms, ice and strong winds.
NPPD also provides power to a number of rural utilities that were reporting outages.
The power outages were being reported in an area stretching roughly from Kearney east to near Lincoln and north to Norfolk and South Sioux City.
