(Neb.)-Festival Of Quilts Still On For This Weekend
(Chadron)-While many in the area are digging out for as much as two feet of snow, organizers of the Festival of Quilts are still gearing up for their celebration coming up this weekend. The festival isn’t just for people in Chadron, and Janice McCallum said they are making concessions for those who live in surrounding communities to make sure their quilts can get entered.
Registration is still set for Thursday, but there are three drop-off points in Crawford, Hay Springs and Rushville for those who may not want to venture out on the snow covered highways. McCallum asks that people who do drop off their quilts make sure their registration form is pinned securely to the quilt to be entered.
In Crawford, people can drop off quilts at Pine Needle Quilts from 10-5 on Wednesday, or until 1 pm on Thursday. Anyone with questions can contact Judy at 665-1107. In Hay Springs, quilts can be dropped off at Pioneer Manor in the Therapy Room, and can contact McCallum with questions at 430-5850. Cliff Rininger’s home at 302 E. 3rd Street will be the drop off location in Rushville, which is the old library in town. Rininger’s number is 327-2525.
The festival will be taking place at the Assumption Arena in Chadron, beginning on Friday and running through Sunday. The admission fee will allow a person to gain entrance all three days of the festival.
