(Neb.)-Body Of Stranded Panhandle Woman Found In Field
BEREA, Neb. (AP) - Searchers on snowmobiles have found a 19-year-old man alive after they found the body of his mother in a field near Berea in the Nebraska Panhandle.
The Nebraska State Patrol says 35-year-old Lisa Conrad had called her husband around 12:30 a.m. Tuesday to tell him she'd been stranded by the powerful snowstorm and was leaving her car a mile south of Berea on U.S. Highway 385. Conrad told her husband that her son, Brandon Conrad Jr., was walking from their Berea home to meet her.
The patrol says Lisa Conrad's body was discovered in a field about a half-mile west of the highway. The snowmobilers continued west and found Brandon Conrad Jr. at an abandoned farmhouse. He was taken to a hospital for treatment of hypothermia and frostbite.
