Weather Conditions Across The Panhandle - Updated 10:44 a.m.
(PANHANDLE)-Conditions in the Panhandle continue to be poor. High winds, blowing snow, stranded motorists, and abandoned vehicles complicate snow removal efforts. Officials with the Nebraska State Patrol and Nebraska Department of Roads have rescued several motorists during the night, but some still remain stranded. The following highways are closed:
Hwy 385 is closed from Bridgeport to Chadron
Hwy 20 is closed from Chadron to Hay Springs
I-80 is now closed from Big Springs to Wyoming Line
Hwy 30 is now closed from Big Springs to the Wyoming line
Hwy 71 is now closed from Colorado State Line to Gering
L62A is closed from the north Bayard junction to Hwy 385
Hwy 88 is closed from Bridgeport to the Wyoming line
Travel is not recommended on any highways in the Panhandle. These closures are expected to remain in place all day and possibly until Wednesday.
