(S.D.)-New Halfway House For Women Ready In Rapid City
RAPID CITY, S.D. (ASSOCIATED PRESS) - A new halfway house for women is set to open in Rapid City.
Organizers say the Passages House will give women who have been released from prison a place to live for 18 months.
Carol Kelly, executive director of the facility, says that the faith-based center is meant to give the women life skills and help them with their educations.
Kelly says the paint, furniture and other items for the home were donated.
The center can house six women at a time. It's slated to open April 1.
