(Neb.)-Water Restrictions Considered In Scottsbluff, Gering
SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb. (AP) - Officials in two western Nebraska cities say water restrictions are becoming more likely this summer as drought there persists.
The city of Gering is looking at voluntary restrictions as a starting point. Rick Kuckkahn, city manager in neighboring Scottsbluff, says residents in his city can expect restrictions sooner than later.
Kuckkahn says he wants to be pro-active and not wait until the middle of summer "where we're seeing some real shortages."
Under the restrictions, residents would split the number of days they would be allowed to water lawns and wash cars. Even-numbered addresses would be allowed to water on certain days of the week, odd-numbered addresses would water on the other days.
