(Neb.)-Nebraska Legislature Working Towards Smoke Free Daycares Listen
(Chadron)- The Nebraska Legislature is currently reviewing a bill that would make it illegal to smoke inside houses for those who run an in-home daycare service. The bill would also pertain to any vehicles used by the daycare facility for the transportation of children.
In Chadron there are currently 25 registered daycare providers, 19 of those provide in home services. Five of those in-home facilities are in a provisional or start up period. Panhandle Public Health District’s Tabi Prachazka (Pro-cosc-a) says that they have been working on smoke free child care facilities prior to being introduced to legislature.
