(CHADRON)-Steel work is set to begin this week on Phase I of Chadron State College’s Rangeland Complex, according to Craig Hadan, superintendent for general contractor Sampson. A crew of about 10-12 was working on concrete last week. During the earthwork phase, water had to be worked into the soil so that it would meet the compaction specifications of the Bahr Vermeer Haecker design team. Hadan said the soil was like powder prior to adding moisture.
The projected completion date for Phase I, which is the arena portion of the complex, is set for late August.
