By: Jeremy Anderson Posted at: 02/09/2013 08:53 AM

(Chadron)- The National Weather Services in Cheyenne has issued a Blizzard Warning for most all of the western Panhandle of Nebraska.

The blizzard warning is in affect from 5:00 p.m. this afternoon until 2:00 p.m. Sunday afternoon.

Snow accumulations could be in the range of five to ten inches of complete snowfall. Winds are expected to blow from 30 to 40 mph with gust surpassing the 50 mph mark. The combination of wind and snow will make for traveling hazards, as snow drifts are expected to reach five to seven feet in height.

The Chadron Police department does offer some driving tips as this weekends winter storm approaches. You can find those along with more winter weather coverage on our website at Chadrad.com
