(Neb.)- Nebraska Judicial Nominating Committee To Select Nominees Feb. 1st
(Chadron)- The 12th judicial district of Nebraska is getting closer to knowing who will be selected to fill the judgeship in Alliance. Originally in Rushville, the judgeship was moved to the Box Butte county city of Alliance in hopes of attracting more applicants and dealing with larger caseloads.
Five candidates are currently being considered for the position. Audrey Elliot of Gering, Larry Miller of Alliance, Stacy Nossman-Petitt of Scottsbluff, Mark Raffety of Omaha, and Paul Wess of Chadron.
On February 1st the Nebraska Judicial Nominating Committee will select at least two of the candidates to recommend to Governor Dave Heineman. Gov. Heineman will then interview the final two candidates at which time he will select one to fill the Alliance judgeship in the 12th judicial district of Nebraska.
The nomination process will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, February 1st at the Box Butte County Courthouse.
