(Alliance)-Two young ladies were selected this weekend to represent Western Nebraska in the Miss Nebraska Pageant, which will be held this summer in North Platte. Kiya Stack from Chadron was selected as Miss Alliance, and Chrissy Townsend of Omaha was selected as Miss Panhandle.
The pageant was held Saturday night in the Performing Arts Center in Alliance. First Runner Up for Miss Alliance was Alliance High School senior Megan Gould. Katrina Poppert, who is from Eastern Nebraska, was selected as First Runner Up to Miss Panhandle.
Several other title holders were on hand at the event, including Miss Nebraska Mariah Cook, who entertained the audience with a piano piece. Cook recently returned from Las Vegas, Nevada, where she represented the state in the Miss America pageant.
