(Neb.)-Scottsbluff Schools To Continue Chinese Program
SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb. (AP) - Two schools in the Nebraska Panhandle will continue their language and cultural partnership program with China for at least three more years.
An administrator at Scottsbluff High School, Mike Huck, told the school board on Monday night that the Confucius Institute asked to renew the program at his school and Bluffs Middle School.
The University of Nebraska-Lincoln and the Confucius Institute partnered with the Scottsbluff district two years ago.
The high school offers several Chinese language classes. There is a nine-week exploratory class at both schools.
Huck says the program serves about 40 students at the high school and about 15 students at the middle school.
