(Neb.)-Icy Roads Blamed In Hay Springs Fender Bender

By: Chris Fankhauser Posted at: 01/04/2013 08:34 AM

(Hay Springs)-Icy roads are to blame for a two-vehicle accident in Hay Springs Thursday morning. According to the Nebraska State Patrol, both vehicles received damage, but neither driver reportedly received any injuries.
At approximately 10:20 Thursday morning, Cynthia Kovach of Hay Springs was southbound on Main Street and attempted to slow down. However, icy roads prevented that and her 1995 Pontiac Grand Prix struck a 2008 Toyota Tundra, driven by Rosemary Hollibaugh, also of Hay Springs.
The Patrol stated that restraints were in use in both vehicles, and both vehicles sustained $1,500 in damage. Roads in the area are still icy due to several rounds of snow over the last few weeks. As of Friday morning, there is no forecast for significant snowfall for the next week, and temperatures should remain in the upper 30s to low 40s.
