(Neb.)-Dawes County Commissioners Discuss County Bridge Issues

By: Jeremy Anderson Posted at: 12/19/2012 11:56 AM

(Chadron)-The Dawes County Commissioner met at their last meeting of 2012 Wednesday morning at the Dawes County Courthouse.

Discussion was had concerning county bridge structures, and damage being caused by water eroding foundation around the bridges. The idea was mentioned of possibly raising roads to allow for better runoff to flow down into ditches surrounding the road. The other plan of action brought up was to dig deeper ditches to allow more of an incline from the location the roads already sit at.

Also, the Dawes County Commissioners approved a recommendation for Alan Connell to be appointed as new Veterans Service Officer.

The  next scheduled meeting for the Dawes County Commissioners will be after the new year sometime in January after the next years schedule is set.
