LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) - Gov. Dave Heineman is reminding Nebraskans to fly their flags at half-staff in observance of Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day on Friday.
Heineman says lowering the flag is a way to remember the victims and honor the heroes of Pearl Harbor.
South Dakota officials say all flags should be flown at half-staff Friday in observance of National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day.
President Barack Obama has called for flags to be flown at half-staff from 8 a.m. until sunset in recognition of the 71st anniversary of the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor in Hawaii on Dec. 7, 1941.
