(Regional)-Stuff-A-Truck Collects Over One Ton Of Food For Custer Storehouse

By: Jeremy Anderson Posted at: 11/15/2012 02:28 PM

(Custer)-Custer students collected over one ton of food during the 5th Annual Stuff-A-Truck project, sponsored by the Custer Area Chamber of Commerce.

For the past month, students at Custer Elementary and Custer Junior/Senior High Schools have been bringing food into their classrooms. Today the food was collected and delivered to the Custer Storehouse, which houses the community’s food pantry as well as other household items. As the boxes and bags were weighed, the final tally was 2,107 pounds!

“It’s always great to see how generous this community is; the students here in Custer understand the importance of giving back,” said Dave Ressler, Executive Director of the Custer Area Chamber.

The classes that collected the most food will receive a pizza party on Nov. 21.
