(Alliance)- Alliance Community Activity Update

All City of Alliance offices will be closed on Thursday, November 22nd and Friday, November 23rd in observance of the Thanksgiving Holiday.  The Alliance Public Library will close at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 21st and will reopen on Monday, November 26th.  The Knight Museum and Sandhills Center will closed at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 21st and will reopen on Monday, November 26th.  

Children are invited to celebrate Thanksgiving at Story Time at the Alliance Public Library on Tuesday, November 20th at 10:00 a.m. 

There are still a few trees and wreaths available for decorating for the 17th annual Christmas Tree and Wreath Festival which will be held December 1st through the 8th at the Knight Museum and Sandhills Center.  Please contact the museum at 762-2384 if you are interested in showing off your creative talents!

Due to the Thanksgiving holiday, steel refuse containers will be emptied only on Monday, November 19th with no second dump on Thursday, November 22nd.  Collection schedules for roll out containers will not change.  Yard waste will be collected through Wednesday, November 21st.

The annual Christmas Parade will be held on Saturday, December 1st at 1:00 p.m.  The parade will be on Box Butte Avenue beginning at 8th Street proceeding south to 4th Street.  Santa Claus will be in the Santa House located at the Third Street Mini Park from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. 

City of Alliance Utility customers are now able to register to receive their bills online instead of receiving a paper copy if they wish.  As a convenience, utility customers may also make payments online at www.cityofalliance.net by clicking the “On-Line Bills” button or by calling Payment Service Network at 1-877-885-7968 using their credit or debit cards for a small fee. Customers wishing to utilize the online statement viewing service only may do so at no charge.  Please call the Utility Office at 762-5075 for more information.
