(Chadron)- CPS School Board Discusses Home Schooled Student Placement
(Chadron)-The Chadron School board met Monday night at their regularly scheduled meeting. One of the highlighted topics of the night was the discussion of where to place home schooled students entering into the Chadron school district. Board member Charles Kuskie says that he wants to find a plan that will help students that are coming into the school district from being home schooled, to make graduation easier to accomplish. Concerns voiced by public members in attendance were the possibility of home schooled students testing their way through high school without attending a class. Chadron High School required 28 credits in order to receive a high school diploma. Discussion was had about creating a committee that would determine where to place home schooled students entering in to the school district, in order to better the student’s educational opportunities and help them meet all of the CHS requirements for graduation. Monday nights talks were only the first reading of any action taken regarding the issue.
