(Chadron)- City Takes Next Step In Updating Water Runoff System
The City of Chadron took another step at Monday nights city council meeting towards improving its storm water run off capabilities. The Leo A Daily firm showcased its plans and development possibilities based on information gathered during their preliminary design phase. The data collected showed city streets collapsing in on top of water pipes that have been slowly corroding away. Al Hottovy, the project manager of Leo A Daily says that this project is beneficial to the city and its storm water run off system.
One concern for the city of Chadron was the cost of the project. Hottovy says that with some refiguring they were able to cut cost on certain expenses. The overall cost of the project currently sits at an estimated 3.9 million dollars. Improvements in the projects would be made to water lines running under Main Street between First and Third Streets, and First Street between Main and Pine Street. The city council also asked the Leo A Daily firm to look at a sanitary sewer extension on First Street.
