(Neb.)-Nebraska Public Power District Assists In West Virginia, New Jersey
Nebraska Public Power District’s 16-person crew of line technicians have finished up restoration work in West Virginia that was needed due to Hurricane Sandy’s visit to the east coast. The crew was assisting the Appalachian Power Company and completed their task (yesterday) Sunday. They and their equipment are now heading to New Jersey to assist Central Jersey Power & Light, which has approximately 400,000 customers without power along the coast line in areas hardest hit by last week’s storm.
NPPD crews are expected to arrive in New Jersey on Monday night and will be assigned work on Tuesday morning. It is anticipated that they will help replace thousands of poles that were broken as a result of the storm.
