(Chadron)-Kerrey Makes Stop in Dawes County
(Chadron)-Democrat Bob Kerrey made a stop in Chadron yesterday (Friday, November 2nd) to speak to the public as he continues on the campaign trail four days before election. Kerrey, who is running for a seat in the U.S Senate, was originally scheduled to make his stop Thursday but moved plans back a day after announcing yesterday that Republican Chuck Hagel will endorse him.
Kerrey, who spoke at the Mari Sandoz Center at Chadron State College, said that he believes the first thing that needs to happen is that Republicans and Democrats must work together towards one goal. Also, Kerrey went in to discussion on how he would make Congress an easier working system and stray away from party controlled decision making.
The former senator and Nebraska governor spoke on topics ranging from health care and renewable energy sources to the Keystone XL Pipeline and the Heartland Expressway, the Expressway being a project that Kerrey feels will bring tourism and economic development to the Panhandle. Election Day is Tuesday, November 6th.
