(Neb.)-Chadron Police Department Requests Updated Business Contacts
(CHADRON)-As a service to the Chadron community, the Chadron Police Department provides security checks at night to local businesses within city limits. Sometimes during these security checks, suspicious circumstances may warrant an officer needing to contact the business owner or manager during non-business hours. This could include an open door or window or the presence of a vehicle that is not normally parked at the business after normal operating hours.
Many businesses already have their contact information on file with the department. This would include names of owners and/or managers and employees that can be called during non-business hours should there ever be a need, such as securing an open door or for any suspicious activity that may be observed around the business.
Business owners or managers who are new to Chadron and have not yet provided such information are encouraged to contact the department. Also, if contact information has not been updated in a while, now would be a good time to update.
The department will need names and phone numbers of at least two to three contacts in the order of preference they should be contacted should a need arise. New information may be dropped off in person at any time, called in to 308-432-0510, faxed to 308-432-0513, or e-mailed to 911 Supervisor Tony Serbousek at email@example.com. All information is kept confidential and is not shared with the public.
In addition, the Chadron Police Department provides free security assessments to all local businesses and organizations within the community. If requested, an officer will come to the business location and do a security assessment of the premises. This will include making recommendations regarding improved lighting to provide better visibility at night and any other recommendations where security to the building and employees may be at risk. Give the department a call at 308-432-0510 to have such an assessment done at a place of business or organization. Together, we can continue making Chadron a safe community to live in and enjoy.
