(Neb.)-Chiefs Group Honors Nebraska State Patrol

     LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) - The Nebraska State Patrol has once again been honored for its traffic safety program.
 
     The recognition comes from the International Association of Chiefs of Police. The association gave the patrol its 2011 National Law Enforcement Challenge Award for being the top State Police/Highway Patrol Agency in the category of 251-500 Sworn Personnel.
 
     The Nebraska State Patrol has an authorized strength of 486 sworn officers.
 
     The award is presented through a cooperative agreement with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
 
     The patrol also received first-place honors in its category in 2007 and 2009 and a second-place award in 2006.
