(Neb.)-Weekend Full Of Activities

By: Chris Fankhauser Posted at: 08/17/2012 11:57 AM

(Chadron)-Several activities will be taking place over the weekend in the KCSR listening area. Tonight in Chadron, the Cardinal Booster Club will be holding a barbecue at 5 pm on the west side of the football stadium. The cost is $15, but will also include a booster membership for the year. That will be followed by the Gatorade scrimmage for the football team at 6 pm.

Saturday morning will bring the Hay Springs Friendly Festival parade, with coverage beginning live on KCSR at 10 am. Also beginning at 10 am will be the Stuff the Bus event at the Chadron Walmart. People are encouraged to purchase school supplies and bring them to the bus at the Walmart parking lot. Those supplies will be distributed to area schools to help children with the essentials for the school year. Hot dogs, chips and coke will also be available for a free-will donation.

The second annual Cookout For A Cause will be held at Helen’s in Chadron, with participants vying for a chance to win money for the charity of their choice. The fee to sample the great foods being prepared is $15 per person or $20 per couple. The event begins at 4 pm.
