(S.D.)-Lawmaker To Be Honored With Flags At Half-Staff On Tuesday

PIERRE, S.D. (AP) - Gov. Dennis Daugaard is asking that all flags in South Dakota be flown at half-staff on Tuesday to honor former state Sen. George Shanard (SHAN'-urd).
Shanard died Friday at age 86. His funeral is Tuesday at First Presbyterian Church in Mitchell.
The Mitchell businessman served in the South Dakota Senate from 1975-1992. He was the Republican majority leader from 1989-1992.
