(Neb.)-Reverse Scramble Golf Tournament Thursday To Benefit Circle Of Light
(CHADRON)-On Thursday, July 19th, a FUN 9-Hole Reverse Scramble and Silent Auction will be held at Ridgeview Golf Course with proceeds benefitting “Circle of Light,” a nonprofit program at Chadron Community Hospital and Health Services. Circle of Light provides financial support to patients affected by any type of cancer while they are undergoing treatment. Funds can be used for medical expenses, travel expenses during treatment, living expenses and even groceries. Through the generous donations of local businesses and individuals, over $90,000 has been given to area cancer patients in the last three years.
The golf tournament will begin at 5:00 p.m. and will be a two-person Reverse Scramble. The challenge of a reverse scramble is that participants must take the worst shot of the two players, not the best, and still try to get the lowest score. The $80 per team entry fee covers golfing, appetizers, and food. Carts (if needed) can be rented from the golf course. Flag and placing prizes will be given. Ridgeview Golf Course has the sign-up sheet for entries and can be contacted at 432-4468.
Non-golfers are also invited to attend the event and enjoy an evening on the patio. A $15 fee will entitle a person to appetizers, hamburgers, and all the fixings. There will also be “non-golfer” games for prizes. A cash bar will be provided as well.
Donations are being sought for the silent auction. Those wishing to donate items toward the auction can send them to Circle of Light, c/o Chadron Community Hospital, 825 Centennial Drive, Chadron, NE 69337, or contact Jodi Danner, Janet Dorshorst, or Kimberly Ouderkirk at 308-432- 5586.
