RAPID CITY, South Dakota (AP) - A Rapid City man has been arrested and charged with aggravated assault in a stabbing incident that sent one man to the hospital.
Authorities say 29-year-old Alton Clifford has been charged with stabbing 26-year-old James D. Lawrence of Rapid City. Lawrence remains in critical condition at a local hospital.
The Pennington County Sheriff's Office and Rapid City police were called to a Rapid City Ranchmart shortly before 7 a.m. Saturday for a report of a stabbing and found Lawrence with multiple stab wounds in a car in the parking lot.
The Pennington County Sheriff's Office and Rapid City Police Department are continuing to investigate.
