(Wyo.) - Project will assist adult workers in Wyoming
CASPER, Wyo. (AP) - A group of Wyoming community colleges has been awarded a $2.7 million U.S. Department of Labor grant to help unemployed or underemployed adults upgrade their work skills.
The idea behind the project is to help them improve their chances for employment or advancement.
Project director Ruth Benson says the Northern Wyoming Community College District, which includes campuses in Sheridan and Gillette, Central Wyoming College of Riverton and Western Wyoming Community College of Rock Springs are participating in the effort.
Benson envisions the project helping adults who have work experience and good skills but need additional training in order to obtain promotions or move into other jobs.
She said besides helping workers the effort also will help provide industries the skilled workers.
