(Wyo.) - Woman convicted in crash set for parole hearing
GILLETTE, Wyo. (AP) - A woman convicted in a drunken-driving crash that killed a 10-year-old girl from Gillette is scheduled for a hearing in front of a parole board Monday.
LaDonna Carothers was convicted in 2007 in the crash in 2006 that killed Madison Scalzo. Carothers was sentenced to eight to 16 years behind bars for felony aggravated vehicular homicide.
Patrick Anderson of the Wyoming Board of Parole said that about 60 percent of inmates who have a hearing get paroled. He says board members consider factors including an inmate's behavior in prison and testimony from victims in deciding whether to grant parole.
Madison's parents, Eric and Deanna Scalzo, plan to testify at the parole hearing.
