(Neb.) - Death Investigation, Donald Canaday
On Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at 8:15 P.M., the Chadron Police Department responded to a
rescue call at 317 North Lake Street in reference to an unresponsive male. Chadron Police
Officers arrived on scene and determined the male was deceased and identified the male as 41
year old Donald Canaday. The residence was secured and a death investigation was performed.
As a result of the investigation an autopsy was ordered at Regional West Medical Center in
Scottbluff. The autopsy was performed on May 3, 2012 at 1:00 P.M. Preliminary results of the
autopsy indicate Canaday suffered a heart attack. No foul play is suspected. Toxicology had
been ordered and results are pending. The Dawes County Attorney’s Office will release more
information at a later date.
