(S.D.) - Hamiel, Woster honored by newspaper association
OACOMA, S.D. (AP) - Two longtime journalists have been honored by the South Dakota Newspaper Association.
Noel Hamiel was inducted into the South Dakota Newspaper Hall of Fame and Terry Woster, received the Distinguished Service Award during a banquet Friday night.
Hamiel was publisher of The Daily Republic before retiring from journalism in 2007 and joining the state Legislature. He currently works for the South Dakota Community Foundation. He says the newspaper business is the best calling one could ever have.
Woster of Pierre, was a reporter and columnist for the Sioux Falls Argus Leader and now writes a twice weekly column for The Daily Republic. He says he got to see some 45 years of South Dakota history in a way most people don't get to.
