11/24/2017 - Robert 'Bobby' Horse

Funeral services for Robert Maurice “Bobby” Horse, age 69, will be at 10:00 AM on Friday, November 24, 2017 at Grace Episcopal Church, 450 Bordeaux St. in Chadron.
 
Burial will be private at Greenwood Cemetery in Chadron.
 
A memorial has been established for Grace Episcopal Church or a charity of donor’s choice.
 
Bobby passed away peacefully in Decatur, IL on November 3, 2017 after a courageous 7-year battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his loving family friends who had cared for him throughout his illness. Bobby was the first son of Robert and Mardra Horse. He was born and raised in Chadron, NE and later moved to Decatur, IL, where he has lived for the past 30 years. He was well-known for his creative talents with jewelry and could build or repair just about anything. Throughout his life, he was a gifted musician and played drums in various local bands, primarily the family band, The Esquires. Bobby was a very generous man and was always willing to help anyone who needed it. He will be greatly missed.
 
He is survived by son Crae Horse; mother Mardra Horse (Williams); brothers Tommy and Brad Horse; sister Virginia (Dennis) Salisbury; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
 
Bobby’s family in Decatur include partner Brenda Templar; stepchildren Araina, Aja, Avia, Alisha, and Ariel Templar and their spouses Jacob Galyen, Matt Mechtley, and Robert Hester; and stepgrandchildren Adriana, Aric, Alexia, and Alexandria Phelps and her husband Michael Standridge, Jacobe, and Ashlynn Phelps, A’don Templar, Antonio Hill Jr., and Tegan Mechtley.
 
Graceland-Fairlawn Funeral Home in Decatur, IL is in charge of arrangements for Robert Maurice “Bobby” Horse.
