Goldie Irene Bridge was born on April 1, 1927 at Page, Nebraska to James H. and Almira S. (Harvey) Bridge and was the 6th of 7 children. She spent her summers during high school working for her sister and brother-in-law, Florence and Viggo Clausen, at their café in Rushville. Goldie graduated from Spencer High School at Spencer, Nebraska in 1944 and married Harlan Larsen on July 3, 1946 in Olympia, Washington, as Harlan was in the Army and stationed at Ft. Lewis, Washington. After Harlan was discharged from the Army they returned to Nebraska and worked on ranches in western and eastern Nebraska. In 1962 they moved back to Chadron and in September of 1966 they opened Skateland and ran the business for 24 years before selling it in 1990. Skateland became a very popular place on Friday nights and weekends and to this day, many people still talk about skating at Skateland.
Goldie loved gardening, sewing, embroidery and crafting of all kinds. She loved and enjoyed all 12 of her grandchildren and her and Harlan made sure that every grandchild knew how to skate as soon as they were walking.
Goldie was preceded in death by her husband Harlan, parents, grandparents, sisters Florence and Freida, brothers Robert and Floyd and one Great Granddaughter.
