Funeral services for Marilyn Perkins, age 69 of Crawford, NE, will be Monday, May 13, 2013, at 10:00 AM  at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Crawford with Pastor Gregory Sonnenschein officiating.  
 
Burial will be at the CrawfordCemetery
 
A memorial has been established for the Crawford Rescue Unit. Donations may be sent to Chamberlain Chapel, PO Box 970, Chadron, NE, 69337.

Marilyn passed away Wednesday, May 8th 2013, at her home in Crawford NE.
 
She was born March 12th, 1944, in Baltic SD, to Mae (Oaks) Thompson and James Straw. As a young girl she lived her life in Baltic with her four siblings. She was educated in Baltic Public schools.
 
On August 28th, 1963, she married Brian W. Perkins Sr. They settled down in Crawford NE. There she worked at the Ponderosa Villa Nursing Home for 28 years. Later she went on to work at Fort Robinson State Park for two years. She also spent one year at the Crawford public schools as one of the "Grandma's." She then retired to being a housewife.
 
She enjoyed crocheting, doing many arts and crafts, camping, gold mining in the Black Hills of SD, cooking and baking.
 
She took great pleasure in spending time with her family, going to church, planting flowers and collecting angel figurines.
 
Immediate Survivors:
 
Husband: Brian W Perkins Sr., Crawford, NE.
 
Sons: Brian W. Perkins Jr. (Gina), Crawford, NE; David O. Perkins (Heidi), Hot Springs SD.
 
Brother: Jim Straw, Missouri.
 
Sister: Donna Lundy, Missouri.
 
Grandchildren: Kimberly (Perkins) Anderson (Ian), Crawford, NE; Tina (Perkins) Garret (Jimmy), Salina KS; James Perkins (Samantha), Crawford, NE; Anthony Perkins (Melissa), Rapid City, SD; Tiffany Perkins, Hot Springs SD.
 
Great Grandchildren: Fayt Anderson, Isayah Anderson, Zoey Perkins, Ailin Perkins-Youngquist, and one on the way.
 
Step-Grandchildren: Lane Connelly and Trestina Connelly.
 
Pallbearers will be Clayton Barker, James Perkins, Anthony Perkins, Ian Anderson, Kimberly Anderson, and Samantha Perkins.
 
Chamberlain Chapel of Crawford is in charge of arrangements.
