Funeral services for Roberta Sallie (Crow) White, age 70, of Oglala, SD will be Monday, May 7, 2012 10:00 AM at the Hilltop Baptist Church in West Brule, SD with Pastor Elton Yellow Boy officiating.
 
A two night wake services will be Saturday, May 5, 2012 at 2:30 PM until 4:30 PM at the White Residence in Oglala, SD than continuing at 5:00 PM at Makasan Presbyterian Church Hall in Oglala, SD with the second night starting at 9:00 PM, CT at the Hilltop Baptist Church in West Brule, SD.
 
Burial will be at St. Albany’s Episcopal Cemetery in Old Fort Hale, SD.
 
Roberta Sallie Crow-White was born to Sam and Jessie (Scabby Face) Crow on June 28, 1941. She was the second child of five children. Roberta graduated from O.C.S. in 1960 with her High School Diploma, she continued her education in the field of Nursing with Albuquerque Indian School of Nursing, when she finished she worked as a nurse in various parts of the Western United States. 
 
Roberta met and married Howard K. White while attending Black Hills State College on July 21, 1978. Roberta and Howard moved to Standing Rock where in 1980 they graduated from the University of North Dakota completing their Bachelor of Science Degrees in Education. They then moved to Little Eagle, SD where they taught at Little Eagle Day School for 2 years, from there they moved to Lower Brule teaching there for 10 years. It was in Lower Brule, where they raised numerous foster children while teaching. Roberta began working with the Lower Brule pow-wow committee for 35 years. She then moved back to Oglala, SD where she continued her teaching at Loneman School. Roberta retired from teaching due to her health. Robert has touched a lot of lives through her many years of teaching. She was always a big part of her family’s lives, especially her grandkids and great grandkids. She will be missed by all.

Husband: Howard K. White of Oglala, SD
 
Daughters: Lynda Wilson of Rapid City, SD, Jolene Neiss of Washington, Barbara Niess and Tara White both of Oglala, SD
 
Sisters: Trivean Crow of Oglala, SD and Patricia Crow-Cordova of Rosemead, CA
 
Sioux Funeral Home of Pine Ridge is in charge of arrangements
