03/16/2013 - Archery Competition March 15 & 16th in Alliance
The Alliance Archery Club will be holding eight indoor 3-D archery shoots in 2013. The Indoor Range is located at 190 Brayton Road on the East side of Alliance, NE just off Hwy 2. The Club has one of the largest heated indoor 3-D shooting ranges in the surrounding area.
With possible shots out to 55 yards, moving targets, simulated tree stand, side hills, turkey blind, adult size rocking horse and lots of artificial trees this shoot is very fun and challenging. There are separate targets for the younger shooters in the Cub class too. The youth and traditional archers also have targets that are set up at ranges out to 35 yards. The Club has also purchased some new targets for this year.
Dan Anderson, AAC President says “The Club does the best we can to make this a challenging shoot for the seasoned archer but still keep it shoot able for the beginning archer.”
Shoots are set up so out of town archers have the opportunity to spend the night after the Friday night shoots and participate in the Saturday shoots also if they wish.
The dates for this years shoots are: Mar 15th and 16th, and the last two shoots are April 12th and 13th. All Friday shoots doors open at 6 PM with the shoots starting at 7 PM. All Saturday shoots doors open at 8 AM and shoots start at 9 AM.
The top 5 shooters from each class (Men and Women Bow Hunter Freestyle, Men and Women Traditional and Youth) have their names put in for a cash drawing that is done at the last shoot in April. Winners do not have to be present to win. The more shoots archers attend the better the chances to get into the cash drawing.
Last year the Club gave out $1000 in cash and $400 in door prizes. Cubs receive medals at each shoot they attend. Door prizes are drawn for at each shoot too.
The indoor range also has a worm up range out to 30 yards for archers to loosen up before the shoot starts. The indoor range also has men and women restrooms.
