05/05/2017 - Family Nature Night At Child Development Center
Chadron State College Child Development Center will be hosting a Family Nature Night on May 5 from 4-6 pm at their facility on the CSC campus. This event will give children and their families the opportunity to spend a night learning about nature together! Bird Conservancy of the Rockies along with partners from US Forest Service, Nebraska Game and Parks Commission, AgateFossilBedsNational Monument and Upper Niobrara White Natural Resource District will set up booths that children and their parents can visit to learn more about different parts of the local ecosystem.
Families are welcome to come and go throughout the two-hour event and visit as many booths as they please (although prizes will be given to children who visit all the booths!). The booths will have exciting nature themes such as birds, mammals, bats, reptiles, water and so much more! At these booths participants will be able to engage in fun and exciting hands-on activities such as finding out their wingspan, examining wildlife skulls and pelts and even seeing live reptiles up close! The goal of this event is that children and their families will spend a fun night together learning about their local ecosystem and leave feeling inspired to learn more.
